Free Energy Efficiency Measures for Qualified CPS Energy Customers
Casa Verde is CPS Energy’s residential weatherization assistance program. It
is designed to help families in need to reduce their monthly utility bills. Eligible
homeowners or renters may receive FREE weatherization upgrades designed to
improve the energy efficiency of their homes. These improvements can help reduce
energy bills, especially during the hot summer months.
Casa Verde was introduced in 2009 and was funded primarily by federal and state
stimulus grants.. That grant-funded program closed in February 2012. During this
phase of the program, CPS Energy weatherized 3,320 local homes. The Casa Verde
program is now administered by CPS Energy and uses funds from our Save for
Tomorrow Energy Plan, or STEP. These energy savings are helping families lower
their monthly energy bills while helping CPS Energy reduce the demand for electricity.
This helps both control costs and get the most for our energy dollars. Casa Verde uses
local energy auditors to determine the energy efficiency needs of a home and local
contractors to perform the installations and complete the work.
CPS Energy’s Casa Verde is FREE to qualifying participants.
Casa Verde customers must meet specific income guidelines to qualify. Program qualification is a two step process:
-
Participants must qualify financially;
-
Participating homes must meet certain requirements regarding structural integrity.
Casa Verde staff hosts numerous community events throughout our service area where residents can find out about the program, ask questions, and apply in person. Just click Calendar of Events to see when and where the next Casa Verde event will be held. Habrá personal bilingüe listo para atenderle en español.
